Reading Assignment: Due: Meyendorff, John and Tobias, Robert.  Salvation in Christ:  A Lutheran-Orthodox Dialogue.  Minneapolis, Minnesota, Augsburg Fortress, 1992.  (169 pages)

  • Voters’ Meeting A special voters’ meeting will be July 28 immediately following the 9 a.m. Divine Service.  The purpose of this meeting is to nominate a pastor for Circuit Visitor for Circuit 11.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

  • White Phoenix Kung Fu Aaron Carter will be teaching Kung Fu classes in the basement of Trinity until September.  These classes are FREE to all Trinity members!  All skill levels are welcome, even beginners!   Classes will meet Tuesdays (except August 13) from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.  Wear comfortable exercise clothes.  Questions?  E-mail Aaron at:  copperflame@hotmail.com
  • Donations needed! Several members of Trinity volunteer the first Tuesday of each month at the South Lord’s Diner on Hillside where volunteers serve a free meal to about 200 guests nightly.  With the help of a Thrivent grant, volunteers are planning to buy personal hygiene products to give to dining guests on August 6th.  School will begin the following week in Wichita and so donations of shampoo, toothpaste, deodorants, soaps and other items will help families as well as other guests who spend a lot of time outdoors in the heat.  Donations would be appreciated and can be left in the narthex the next two Sundays (July 21 and 28). 
  • Are You A Dillon’s Shopper? Designate Trinity as your Dillon’s rewards charity online, using the code QG377. You will need to designate Trinity every year for this rewards program.

  • Call Process Update: Hannah Elsey has accepted the call to be our Director of Discipleship and Engagement! We will have information about her installation in the coming weeks. Thank you for your prayers!
  • T.O.T. (Formerly Theology on Tap): We will meet at Old School Tap in Kechi on Sunday, July 21st from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
  • College Age and Young Adults: Pool party at Maggie Newton’s on Sunday, July 28th starting at 6:00 p.m. Pizza and drinks will be provided.

Jeff Meyers from Christ Lutheran Church, Overland Park, KS will present at Risen Savior in Wichita Saturday, August 17, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
