*Friday of Trinity 15*
Dear Saints and Friends of Grace & Trinity,
*SUNDAY – TRINITY 16*
T the Sunday of the Widow’s Son T
1 Kings 17:17-24; Ephesians 3:13-21; Luke 7:11-17 <ec2-52-26-194-35.us-west-2.compute.amazonaws.com/x/d?c=8985685&l=fb156ef4-41a7-4342-a1fe-574f3eb4dcea&r=f531ab4b-9cc5-492e-9a44-109f54e9b229>
There’s a dead boy being carried through the town when Jesus arrives. His widowed mother is weeping; the crowds are weeping; the world is weeping. Death should not be—but even more so for the children. Thanks be to God that when death confronts Jesus—His compassion, His mercy, His eternal and unfailing love—then death has no other option than to turn back and flee! And when death flees, the boy has no other option than to get up and speak. And so it goes also for you. Dear Saints, *join us* *this Sunday at 8am at Grace and* *11am at Trinity as Christ comes to us again, calling us to arise, and giving us a new voice of praise and thanksgiving!*
*Bible Study is at 9:30am at Trinity. *We’re still in chapter five of the book of Revelation. To prepare for chapter 6, here’s your weekly dose of Peter Leithart on Revelation <ec2-52-26-194-35.us-west-2.compute.amazonaws.com/x/d?c=8985685&l=f35fc5a1-0ba9-4b01-adcb-d1dd3dee7d68&r=f531ab4b-9cc5-492e-9a44-109f54e9b229>. · November 20-21: Youth Catechesis Retreat in Herington. More details to follow, but this is meant for the whole family!
*Other things…*
· Here’s this week’s Youth Catechesis Quiz <ec2-52-26-194-35.us-west-2.compute.amazonaws.com/x/d?c=8985685&l=2849d14e-87be-4264-a694-fbc55d828bb1&r=f531ab4b-9cc5-492e-9a44-109f54e9b229> focused on the story of Noah. Thanks again, Amy!
· I’ve been hearing quite a bit of buzz about the new Netflix Documentary: Social Dilemma. I’ve not seen it yet but want to. Apparently, it’s a very severe unmasking of the reality behind our social media driven world, including the voices of those who actually worked at the design of these programs. If you have teens, this is especially for you. But it’s also just for you.
· If you haven’t had a chance, check out Concordia Academy’s monthly Newsletter <ec2-52-26-194-35.us-west-2.compute.amazonaws.com/x/d?c=8985685&l=f9a297d6-f05a-4cc5-806d-8bbc4b076b81&r=f531ab4b-9cc5-492e-9a44-109f54e9b229> .
*Prayer Requests…*
· Continued prayers for Shailesh Mark, a friend of mine, going through a very dark and difficult time.
· For Rachel Stahlecker, who delivered her daughter Brielle 9 weeks early.
· For Pr. Metzger, currently admitted at St. Francis for a bleeding ulcer.
Many blessings and much joy to you all in Christ our life,
-Pastor
