This Sunday is *Jubilate *Sunday—Sunday of rejoicing! Shout for joy to the Lord our Introit says. But why? Things are still a mess. We’re haunted by this disease. We’re lonely. Babies are still murdered in the womb. And the promises of God seem like they’re never coming. It’s into this fear and sorrow and pain that our Lord says, “*Yet a little while…*” It’s like a woman in labor. At the moment there’s nothing worse and it seems like the baby will never come. The temptation is to give up and death is threatening the whole time. But then the cry of the child rings through the room; sorrow turns to joy and mourning to dancing! That’s how it is with our Lord. *Jubilate*! *Join us this Sunday at Grace at 8am and Trinity at 11am!*

· *May 3* ~ NEW MEMBER CATECHESIS: Every Monday, beginning May 3rd, from 6-7:30pm we’ll meet at Trinity for a class on what it is we believe, teach, and confess as Lutherans. Please invite any family or friends—and come yourself for a refresher! There’s no obligation to join the church after the class, but for those desiring to do so, this is an opportunity.
· *May 8 *~ FATHER/SON WORK-DAY*:* we’re going to gather as many fathers and sons as are willing to spend time together, bonding around labor, food, and conversation. Like newborn babes, who rejoice in the new life and new birth that comes in the Resurrection of Jesus, we long for the pure spiritual milk of the Gospel! That’s what we mean by *Quasimodo Geniti*. (But, yes, the Hunchback of Notre Dame does get his name from this Sunday, when he was found on the Sunday after Easter.) This Sunday we join the Apostles—Thomas included!—in the upper room, where we are given to see and to touch the very wounds that brought us life. The image below is on the bulletin cover and hangs in Grace’s sanctuary. It’s an incredibly vivid portrait that is well worth pondering. *Join us this Sunday at Grace at 8am and Trinity at 11am!*
