ISSUES, ETC. JOURNAL Is good theology like a pendulum or a plumb line? Does good theology react to error by swinging in the opposite direction or by returning to and remaining on the true line of God’s Word? In this edition of the Issues, Etc. Journal, I recount my years spent reacting to the errors of evangelicalism rather than returning to the plumb line of God’s Word.

Also in this edition, the chief administrative officer of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, Felix Loc, tells his story of coming to confessional Lutheranism from Catholicism through evangelicalism and Reformed theology. His is a journey from reliance on sincerity and knowledge to a reliance on Jesus Christ.
